sakura matsuri and the children's garden

today was the cherry blossom festival at the brooklyn botanic garden. we've been going since we lived in brooklyn, and we still attend, just for a yearly ritual and sense of nostalgia! it's a very crowded festival and we were not able to get there in time to buy a bento box, as all were sold out. we had apple pie instead, and though it was very good, it wasn't the same as a bento box. i did get a few pretty pictures! and g got to take a nap on the lawn while i knitted and m and c explored the bamboo forest.

afterwards, we came home and planted in the children's garden. it was a bit late but we had a little light to see where to poke the tiny seeds in . . we planted lettuce, carrots and radishes.
