today was the cherry blossom festival at the brooklyn botanic garden. we've been going since we lived in brooklyn, and we still attend, just for a yearly ritual and sense of nostalgia! it's a very crowded festival and we were not able to get there in time to buy a bento box, as all were sold out. we had apple pie instead, and though it was very good, it wasn't the same as a bento box. i did get a few pretty pictures! and g got to take a nap on the lawn while i knitted and m and c explored the bamboo forest.afterwards, we came home and planted in the children's garden. it was a bit late but we had a little light to see where to poke the tiny seeds in . . we planted lettuce, carrots and radishes.
