prospect park carousel

there was a carousel and other fair rides visiting my mom and dad's town this past weekend. it got c thinking about the prospect park carousel which i had been promising her a visit to all last winter and spring and throughout the summer. so when we got home sunday evening i planned a brooklyn trip for this morning. i'm glad we finally went. there's nothing quite as wonderful as the prospect park carousel. it's special. if you haven't yet visited . . plan for the spring! i think it's closed for the winter already, but you can check here. in the movie above you can see the caretaker. we've noticed him working at the carousel since we began going in 1994. we also see him every winter managing the concession stand when we skate at wollman rink (in prospect park). he's very nice and always remembers the children. i'm sure he's seen many of them grow up! and maybe one of these days we'll ask him his name . .
